This Privacy Policy describes how Insert ("Insert," "we," "our," or "us") handles personal data when you use the Insert website, application, connected services, and Insert Chrome extension.

By using Insert, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the service.

Account and profile information: username, name, email address, avatar, biography, company, location, social profile identifiers, authentication details, verification state, and preferences you provide.

Content and collaboration information: Topics, problems, Blogs, Collections, Projects, release notes, comments or references, visibility choices, collaborator roles, invitations, and related metadata.

Connected-service information: when you authorize GitHub, we receive the authorization credentials and repository, branch, commit, and account metadata required to provide project and release features. We only access connected data within the permissions you grant.

Payment and subscription information: plan, order, payment, verification, renewal, cancellation, and subscription-state identifiers. Payments are processed by Razorpay; Insert does not intentionally store complete card, bank-account, or UPI credentials.

Technical and usage information: IP address, device and browser information, request and error logs, session activity, timestamps, feature interactions, and similar diagnostic information used to operate and protect the service.

We use personal data to create and secure accounts; provide Topics, Blogs, Collections, Projects, collaboration, notifications, and release workflows; process subscriptions; synchronize authorized repositories; deliver service messages; troubleshoot failures; prevent misuse; and improve product performance and usability.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use Chrome extension data for advertising or unrelated profiling.

The Insert Chrome extension handles only the data necessary for its disclosed purpose: authenticating with Insert and creating or saving supported project and release-note content to your Insert account.

The extension does not intentionally collect unrelated browsing history, sell user data, or use user data for advertising. It does not inject remotely hosted executable code. Extension permissions should be limited to those necessary for currently available features.

Data practices displayed in the Chrome Web Store and any in-product disclosure should be read together with this policy.

We may share data with infrastructure and service providers that help operate Insert, such as hosting, database, media storage, authentication, email, analytics, error monitoring, payment, and repository-integration providers. These providers receive information only as needed to perform their services.

Content marked public—including public profiles, Topics, Blogs, Collections, Projects, and release material—can be viewed by other people. Private content is made available to authorized account holders and collaborators according to the access choices you make.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect users or the service, investigate fraud or security incidents, or support a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of assets with appropriate safeguards.

We retain account information and user content while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and backups, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Retention periods may vary by data type and operational need.

You may delete supported content using product controls. To request account-level access, correction, export, or deletion, contact us using the address below. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained when required by law or legitimate security and recordkeeping needs.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including secure network transmission for supported production services and access controls appropriate to the service.

No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or raise a grievance about our handling of personal data.

You control content visibility, collaboration permissions, connected GitHub authorization, notification state, and subscription settings through available product and third-party controls. Disconnecting a service stops future access but may not automatically delete data already imported into Insert.

Insert is intended for users who are legally able to create an account and use the service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal data improperly, contact us so we can review the request.

We may update this policy as Insert changes or legal and operational requirements evolve. We will update the effective date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the product. Material changes to Chrome extension data practices may also require prominent disclosure and consent.
